On the site I have added a set of new Polls trying to ascertain the background of people interested in Cornish.
This based on ethnic background, age and belief.
The question on Christianity may seem a bit controversial but it is an important question, because I feel it is vital to introduce as many people as possible to the Cornish language as possible. Looking at the lists of Cornish books in print, there are apart from the mediaeval plays, which are Christian, two versions of the New Testament with the individual books of the New Testament also available. Plus a new book of prayers.
There are no spiritual books available in Cornish in any other faith. Could it be seen that the Cornish Language Movement is essentially a Christain Movement? (Agan Tavas's weekends always include a Church Service on the sunday). Speaking as a non-christian I am very aware of the need for a general spiritual Cornish Book that isn't aligned to any one particular faith.
This is why a spiritual section has been added to the website and I am willing to include prayers from any faith on the site, (providing they do not include an attack on anyother faith).
Of course, I would draw the line at a Satanist prayer in Cornish... not that I have ever seen one.

As a supporter of the UCR orthography, I found it strange that the Cornish orthography poll no longer appears on the website since UCR took the lead from Kemyn. You seemed to be well into the orphography poll while kemyn had a temporary lead.

The reason is very simple, I chose to vary the polls and ask different questions for a change. The main reason for the orthography poll was to gauge the interest in the different forms. It was quite obvious after a while that UCR was the preferred choice of visitors to the site. Whilst I would like to have more UCR on the site currently I don't have the time to post everything in UCR and in Kemmyn, but if anybody was willing to do the work in transforming any writing on the site to UCR I would be delighted to put it on the site.
The full results will be posted on the site soon of all the earlier polls.

As there is obviously an ongoing interest in this Poll I have brought it back!
Should be interesting to watch in the long term.

Learning the language for me has nothing to do with Christianity, nothing religious at all. Its just interesting and i prefere saying im Cornish when abroad rather than English. My French friends say thats wise.
